Training Programme on Mushroom Cultivation for the Woman in Tamnar Raigarh


RAIGARH (Chhattisgarh):  Under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities Mahatamil Mining and Thermal Energy Ltd (MMTEL) conducted a three days training programme on mushroom cultivation for the woman in village Mudagaon, near Tamnar, 30 Km from Raigarh,  where company has proposed to start coal mining and thermal power plant. Women were given tips to become self dependent. MMTEL sponsored the CSR event.

It is to be noted that Lanco Group Company has bagged the mandate to be a mine developer and operator of Gare Pelma-II coal block of Maha Tamil Collieries Ltd (MTCL) and for development of 2,000 MW of thermal power plant in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh.

Mr. Dayanand Awasthi, Assistant General Manager, MMTEL was the chief guest of concluding ceremony of training programme. Mr. Vijay Sharma, Deputy Manager R & R and Lekhram Patel were present in the function.

Mr. Vijay Sharma gave details of the programme and informed that almost 40 women of villages Dholnara and Mudagaon took part in the training. Mr. Manoj Bhagat of Romni Agritech-Jashpur was the trainer and he gave training pertaining to the meaning of mushrooms, production through latest techniques, and protection from insects and marketing techniques in details.
Chief guest Mr Awasthi urged the women of self help groups to come forward for self employed and also requested them to take maximum benefit from the training by cultivating mushroom through latest techniques after the training and using it as an additional source of income.

Special guest Mr. Lekhram Patel from Mudagaon present at the ceremony lauded the efforts of Mahatamil coal project for this unique programme and thanked the management. At the end of the programme all the self help groups were given certificates and also spawn, polythene, necessary medicines and other row material for initial cultivation of mushrooms by the organizers. Role of Mr. Sufal Vishkarma, Minketan Patel, women of self help groups and Anganbadi workers of mudagaon for the success of the programme was appreciated.
